Long | Tour de Hvar

Trail run on Hvar Island – explore the stunning single trails of the sunniest island in the Mediterranean. You can expect some nice single trails along the Adriatic coast and ridges with amazing views on the nearby islands.

The race starts in the center of Stari Grad, leading you through its most important landmarks.

You will pass the well-known Likoreva House and climb to the Purkin Kuka viewpoint, a favorite spot for visitors and a significant archaeological site of Stari Grad.
The route continues through the picturesque villages of Dol and Vrbanj, some of the oldest settlements on the island, rich in history and tradition.

Before heading east, you will pass through Svirče and Vrisnik, villages known for their top-quality wine and olive oil producers.
The village of Pitve, one of the most picturesque settlements on Hvar, is an essential highlight of this route and the last northern-side village on your journey.

As you traverse from the northern to the southern side of the island, you will pass significant archaeological sites, including the ancient Greek tower Tor and the old Galešnik fortress, remnants of Jelsa’s past preserved in the present.

Before ascending to the highest peak of the island, you will run through the vineyards of Zavala, enjoying spectacular views of southern Dalmatian islands such as Šćedro and Korčula.

Upon reaching Sveti Nikola, stop for a moment and take in the 360° panoramic view of Central Dalmatia.

Descending into Sveta Nedjelja, the trail takes you along the coastal path and breathtaking beaches for nearly 21 km, offering an immersive experience with the sea breeze, Mediterranean vegetation, pine forests, and vineyards.

Before crossing the finish line, you will pass Napoleon Fortress, run through Fortica Fortress, and finish the race in the center of Hvar Town, right in front of the iconic Loggia.

The trail is suitable for intermediate and more experienced runners. It does not include dangerous sections, making it suitable even for runners who prefer non-exposed paths.
