Tour de Hvar
Trail run on Hvar Island – explore the stunning single trails of the sunniest island in the Mediterranean. You can expect some beautiful single trails along the Adriatic coast and ridges with amazing views of the nearby islands.
The race starts in the center of Hvar Town, with the first climb taking you up to Fortica Fortress and Napoleon Fortress, offering spectacular views over Hvar and the surrounding islands.
From there, the route continues towards Malo Grablje and climbs further to Motokit and Velo Grablje. The trail then descends towards Stari Grad and follows the coast towards the town centre.
From Stari Grad, the route continues along small coastal trails towards the Glavica viewpoint. From there, you climb to the well-known Likoreva House and continue to the Purkin Kuka viewpoint, a favourite spot for visitors and an important archaeological site of Stari Grad.
The route then heads inland through the picturesque villages of Dol, Svirče, Vrisnik and Pitve, before continuing towards Gornji Dolac and descending towards Zavala.
After Zavala, the route turns back towards Vrisnik before continuing towards Sveti Nikola, the highest peak on Hvar Island. Upon reaching Sveti Nikola, take a moment to enjoy the 360° panoramic view of Central Dalmatia.
Descending into Sveta Nedjelja, the trail continues along the southern coast towards Milna. This scenic coastal section takes you through Mediterranean vegetation, pine forests and vineyards, with the sea accompanying you along the way.
From Milna, the route follows the coast all the way back towards Hvar Town. The final kilometres lead you through the town and along the waterfront before you cross the finish line in the heart of Hvar, right in front of the iconic Loggia.
The trail is suitable for intermediate and more experienced runners. It does not include dangerous sections, making it suitable even for runners who prefer non-exposed paths.
